I set up this blog a couple of months ago.... not a good time for a farm wife to start something new... but despite the fact that things have not slowed down, here's my first post!
I started this on the encouragement of several people, and my intention is to help readers get a better understanding of our crazy lives on a Kansas farm. I hope you enjoy learning about my family, and the work that we are doing to feed the world!
I grew up in Iowa, but not technically on a farm. My grandpa and uncle farmed, and I got started raising livestock when I was 10. I went to school at Iowa State University and studied Agriculture Education, but never dreamed that I would end up living on a farm. Luke and I met on E-Harmony in 2006, were married in 2007, and had our son Jacob in 2008. Luke grew up on this land, and has wanted to be a farmer his whole life, so we moved back here in 2007 and got to work!
Life changes every day... and we hope you enjoy learning about what we do!
